What are they? ""Alt" tags" are the
alternative description that you can assign each image graphic
                      on your web site.
Originally these special meta tags were designed for visually
impaired Web surfers to help them understand what you're
site was about because they couldn't see the pictures.
However "Alt" tags can play powerful role in
helping to determine what your web site is about not just
for the visually impaired but for search engines like Google
                      as well.
The easiest way to make sure your web site takes advantage
of this special tag is to make sure that you're "Alt"
tags include one or more of your web sites keywords, and
use a different keyword or keyphrase for each graphic on
                      the page.
This is a very under utilized strategy but can be very
powerful when used correctly. It's a safe and LEGAL way
to increase the "keyword density" on your page
for some of the most popular search engines in the world.
Lastly, remember not to go crazy here "Alt" tags
are HTML code and if your site uses a lot of graphics it
can add substantially to the kilobyte size of your page,
thereby causing your site to load more slowly for surfers
still using a dial up connection.
Best of luck, and see you at the top!
